This exhibit was the result of a collaborative project between art teachers at Butler High School and Barringer Academic Center.
The teachers paired 3rd and 4th graders with 11th and 12th grade “art buddies.”
After a visit to The Mint Museum, the art buddies were tasked with responding to Michele Tejuola Turner’s Babalawo by creating a gourd that communicated their own stories through text, symbolism, and imagery.
