About

Mint to Be: The Feminine Body as Costume Art celebrates femininity through the creative vision of local artists.

Mint Museum Uptown – Level 5, Mint5pace

Featuring a month-long exhibition, runway competition, and fashion fair experience opening May 1 in the MINT5pace at Mint Museum Uptown. Inspired by the Met Gala’s 2026 celebration of Costume Art, the exhibition features curated works across multiple mediums, paired with one to two fashion mannequins to bring each artistic interpretation to life. Presented by Perrine “Professor P” DeShield-Jenkins, creator of the 2025 sold-out event Superfine: Exploring Black Dandyism, Mint to Be honors femininity in all its forms—where tenderness becomes strength and self-adornment becomes storytelling.
