Join us for a curator talk with Selene Preciado, Curator and Director of Programs at LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions), as she discusses Collidoscope: de la Torre Brothers Retro-Perspective. This vibrant exhibition celebrates 30 years of groundbreaking work by internationally acclaimed artists Einar and Jamex de la Torre. Known for their dazzling glass and mixed-media sculptures, the de la Torre brothers create bold, immersive works that explore identity, religion, politics, and pop culture with both humor and depth.
About the curator:
Selene Preciado holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.A. in Art and Curatorial Practices in the Public Sphere from the University of Southern California. Her work explores themes such as history, memory, language, diaspora, place, ritual, and popular culture. She has also held positions at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), the San Diego Museum of Art, and inSite_05.
