The Latin Music Concert Series seeks to showcase different rhythms from Latin America, highlighting the talents of local musicians from the Latin American community. From classical music to Latin jazz, these concerts will provide a taste of the variety of cultures from the all corners of Latin America.
This concert will feature a variety of rhythms from Puerto Rico and Latin Jazz.

Rhythm Plus Latin Jazz
Rhythm Plus Latin Jazz is a group founded in Charlotre with the purpose to expose and preserve the amazing, pure and profound musical legacy left to us by the great pioneers Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Chano Pozo, Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barreto, Charlie Parker, and many others.
Nyree is African American with West Indian Heritage. She is proud of her Jersey roots and has loved dance she was in elementary school. She is a self-taught artist and choreographer and is versatile in her taste and dance abilities. From West Indian soca, to salsa and Cha-Cha, she breaks the mold in every style adding her own flavor to each movement. She is has strong commitment to improving the community and frequently gives back through Zumba lessons that seek to empower everyone to explore their own dance abilities with a focus on women and dance a form of liberation.
Darling is a Dominican born Afro-Taina with an incredible passion for dancing. She began dancing bachata at the age of five with family and friends in her native land. When she moved to New York at age twelve, Darling discovered a passion for hip hop. She participated in a number of dance shows and choreographed routines for the cheerleading squad. In college she became captain of a Latin dance team where she discovered a love for salsa. After graduation she began dancing with a New York based dance troop called LFX where she furthered worked on choreography in movement. Overall darling is passionate about dance as a means of self-expression and a creative outlet.
Darling founded Xpressions Dance alongside dancer Everdith Landrau. Xpressions Dance Company seeks to promote Latin culture through dance classes and performances that pay homage to our roots.
