Young Affiliates of the Mint New Member Mingle

Have you joined the Young Affiliates of the Mint in the last 6 months OR are you interested in learning more about the organization?

Mark your calendars for the Fall New Member Mingle taking place at the Mint Museum Uptown on Wednesday, November 1st from 6-8 PM. New and prospective members will have the opportunity to hear from Young Affiliates leadership, mingle with new members, go on a special curated tour of the new William Ivey Long exhibition, and even join committees!

Afterwards, all attendees are invited to stay for a social hour at Vapiano, on the corner of Tryon and 4th St.

WHO WE ARE

We're a diverse group of young professionals promoting and supporting The Mint Museum through cultural, social, leadership, and fundraising activities and events. Established in 1990, we're the premier social arts organization for young professionals in Charlotte.

OUR MISSION

To introduce members to the resources available at the Mint, and develop appreciation of the arts through a wide variety of programs including gallery openings, receptions, annual fund-raising events, membership meetings, and after-work educational seminars.

OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT

The Young Affiliates make substantial donations of tangible and intangible goods to the Mint Museum each year. To date, we have made eight acquisitions, including a photograph by Annie Leibovitz and outstanding pieces of contemporary craft purchased at the American Craft Council Craft Fair. These artworks are held in the permanent collection of the Mint with credit to the Young Affiliates. At present, we have committed to raising funds to offset the cost of free school tours of the Mint Museum for school-aged children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. These tours inspire a new generation of artists and art enthusiasts who will make Charlotte a more vibrant community.
