DESCRIPTION:Chief curator and Curator of Contemporary Art Jen Sudul Edwards is joined by Maja Godlewska\, artist and professor at UNC Charlotte\, who will discuss her Constellation CLT installation The Fluid Landscapes\, on view at Mint Museum Uptown. \nGodlewska has spent the last two decades exploring the intricate\, and often disruptive\, ways humanity interacts with the natural world. Her newest body of work is an exploration of tourism’s impact on the environment. \nHer large-scale\, immersive installations—crafted with watercolor paper\, ink\, and sculptural forms—mimic the rhythms of the land while evoking memory\, movement\, and erosion. Each undulating surface invites viewers to slow down\, to look rather than scroll\, and to reflect on the paradox of wanting to preserve beauty even as we consume it.

Take time to reflect\, restore\, and feel the transformative power of art for well-being. \nThis program supports wellness and builds a sense of community. Artwork on view in the museum will be used as a focus of slow looking and meditation to relax tension in the mind and body\, and enhance a personal connection to the art.
