The Youth Orchestras of Charlotte return to the Mint for a dynamic evening of orchestral music inspired by European composers and the lush soundscapes of the Romance and Impressionist eras in conjunction with the exhibition Renaissance, Romanticism, and Rebellion. Enjoy an immersive performance showcasing the talent and artistry of the next generation of musicians.
Program highlights:
• Engelbert Humperdinck — Prelude, “Song of the Sandman,” and “Dream Pantomime” from Hansel and Gretel
• Georges Bizet — “Carillon,” “Menuet,” and “Farandole” from L’Arlésienne
• Claude Debussy — “Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune” (Afternoon of a Faun)
• Antonín Dvořák — “Allegro con brio” from Symphony No. 8
Performance begins at approximately 6 PM. Galleries are open late.
