HBCUs have long been critical incubators for artistic talent in the South; many of their art departments were founded and led by the region’s leading artists during the period covered by Southern/Modern. Drawing on their own personal and scholarly experiences, panelists will discuss the importance and impact of these programs.

The Mint Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
