About The Exhibition

Cannon School celebrates fifty-three students’ works of art in the STAR Gallery Uptown invitational exhibition, Activating Creativity, Finding Voice (November 12 2012 – December 30 2012). This exhibition includes drawings, paintings, collage, sculpture, and digital media by junior kindergarten through high school senior students.

Cannon School Visual Arts Department and The Mint Museum worked together to develop connections to Mint Museum Uptown special exhibitions. Featured works of art include a “trash artwork” inspired by the special exhibition VantagePoint X / Vik Muniz: Garbage Matters (August 25 2012 – April 28 2012) and a compilation of videos entitled Me, Myself and I, related to the special exhibition Reflections: Portraits by Beverly McIver (Oct 20 2012 – January 06 2013). This student compilation examines identity and self-discovery through a teenage perspective.
