Busbee Anniversary Creamer

circa 1922-1927

Jugtown Pottery (, 1921 - present)

Jugtown Pottery was established in 1921 by Jacques and Juliana Busbee, who wanted to revive the potting tradition of the Seagrove area. When Jugtown opened, Charlie Teague was the first potter. This coffee service was supposedly made by Charlie Teague and decorated by Jacques Busbee as an anniversary gift for Juliana Busbee. Each piece is ornamented with the heraldic device of a stag pierced by an arrow above a banner that reads “Fac et Spera,” or “Do and Hope.”
