Hiroshi Sueyoshi (Japanese, active in the United States, 1946 - present)

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Hiroshi Sueyoshi moved to Asheboro in 1971 to help design and build Humble Mill Pottery. Today he is the master artist in residence at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington. He used silicon carbide (carborundum) to create the richly textured surface on this vessel.
