Since graduating in 2002 from the University of Minnesota, Eric Knoche taught ceramics for two years in Thailand and has lectured and exhibited his works throughout the United States and Europe. He built this vessel with wide clay bands rather than coils, a technique he witnessed while traveling in Korea. He coated the vessel with a Japanese-style “nuka” glaze, which includes ash from rice hulls.
