Kyle Carpenter first moved to Asheville to study ceramics at the University of North Carolina’s campus there. After graduating, he set up his own studio, where he specializes in salt-glazed art pottery. A gifted draftsman as well as a potter, Kyle utilizes both talents in his work, as manifested by this charger, whose smooth surface is a canvas for Kyle’s highly naturalistic drawing of a wren.
