Haute couture refers to custom-made, one-of-a-kind garments created for one individual. Couture fashions involve incredible detail to cut, construction - much of which is done by hand. Such unique fashions command high prices. Haute couture designs for the House of Chanel are presented through the company's premiere boutique located at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris. Today, over 160 Chanel boutiques are in operation around the globe.
