Fred Johnston (American, 1962 - present)

Fred Johnston studied ceramics as an undergraduate at Alfred University and then completed his Master of Fine Arts at Pennsylvania State University. Prior to his academic career, however, Johnston worked as an itinerant potter in Seagrove, where he met many of the old pottery families. After graduating, he returned to Seagrove with his wife and partner, Carol Gentithes.
