Pillar Cloth Quilt

(, - present)

With few still in existence, crib quilts are especially prized. The pillar print border fabric of this Pillar Cloth Quilt was made in England near the end of the 18th century and imported to the United States. The sixteen-patch pieced and plain blocks set on point, however, also contain later roller print cottons from the mid 19th century.
