Crazy Quilt

circa 1900

(, - present)

The foundation pieced technique used in this quilt is called "string" piecing. It differs from other crazy quilts because the pieces are thin cotton strips. Another significant difference is the absence of embroidery on the surface of the quilt, a typical feature of crazy quilts.
