After graduating from Appalachian State University, Charlie Lisk worked for Pinehurst Pottery in Moore County before moving to Vale, where he met Burlon Craig. Influenced by Burlon, Charlie began to fire with a wood kiln, adopted ash glazes, and began to make swirlware. This vase is a particularly fine example of Charlie’s expertise.
