Nicholas Joerling (American, 1949 - present)

Nick Joerling is a studio potter who has been working in Penland since the mid-1980s. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics from Louisiana State University, and he has taught in craft programs in the United States and abroad. Among Joerling’s creations are his animated, functional pots informed by human body language.
