Ben Owen III learned to turn pots from his grandfather, Ben Owen, Sr., who was the first “master potter” of Jugtown Pottery in Seagrove. He also studied ceramics at East Carolina University, and in Tokoname, Japan. He now operates Ben Owen Pottery on the site where his grandfather’s Old Plank Road Pottery once stood, just outside Seagrove.
