Bust of Charlotte Augusta, Princess of Wales

1819

John and Richard Riley (Burslem, Staffordshire, England, circa 1796 - 1828)

Princess Charlotte (1796–1817) was the daughter of George, Prince of Wales and the future King George
IV (reigned 1820–1830), and Caroline of Brunswick. In 1816, Charlotte married Leopold of Saxe-
Coburg-Saalfeld, but she died the following year after giving birth to a stillborn son. If she had survived
her father and grandfather, King George III, she would have become Queen of the United Kingdom.
