These classes are designed for middle-school and high-school students who are in advanced classes and are working on AP or IB portfolio requirements.
ADULT CLASSES
Fantasy and Fabrication
Instructor: Allie Farlowe
Four Wednesdays: March 7, 14, 21, 28

Create your own jewelry design inspired by surrealism and fantasy art after you are given an overview of tools, materials, and processes. You will use basic jewelry fabrication techniques: sawing, piercing, filing, forming, and cold-connections. Beginning to intermediate level.
Dreamscapes

Explore painting, drawing, and writing techniques favored by surrealist artists in the United States and in Europe. Tour special exhibitions to see works by Kay Sage, Yves Tanguy, and Charles Seliger.
The Hand and the Eye: Life Drawing Class

You Figure It: Metal Assemblage Class
Instructor: Amy Hart

Play with found objects in this metal assemblage class. Take an intuitive dive into the 3D world.

The Art of Mokume Gane: Patterning in Metal
Instructor: Wayne Werner
Saturday, May 5
UPTOWN | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuition: $80 Mint member / $95 non-member
Learn mokume gane patterning. This process manipulates multiple layers of metals to create patterns that resemble wood or smoke, similar to Damascus style metalworking. Maryland artist Wayne Werner will lead this workshop for beginners to advanced metal workers.
