Bride  Scything

Quiet Spirit Skillful Hand, features more than 100 works by the renowned British/American wood engraver Clare Leighton. The exhibition, drawn from the Museum's Pratt Collection, provides a full survey of Leighton’s career, from her earliest prints in 1920s through some of her final engravings executed in the 1960s.  It includes numerous examples of Leighton's critically-acclaimed scenes of agrarian life in both England and America that demonstrate both her artistic prowess and her abiding respect for the earth and those who tend it. For more information on the exhibition see the exhibition page.
