Membership Benefits and Levels

The Mint Museum is among Charlotte’s most cherished cultural institutions, but it is only partially funded by the state and city. The museum relies heavily on private support from individual community members to provide exciting exhibitions and programs. Your membership is vital to the successful operations of the museum and its ability to serve the public.

General Membership Benefits

• Free admission to the Mint Museum of Art and Mint Museum of Craft + Design
• Invitations to Openings and special events
• 10% discount at The Mint Museum Shops (for purchases over $10)
• Free admission and discounts to a variety of museums in the Southeast.
• Subscription to The Mint Museum's bi-monthly newsletter
• Discounts on The Mint Museum workshops, classes, and lectures

General Membership Levels

Memberships valid for one person:
Student $25 with I.D.
Teacher $30 include institution name
Senior Individual $30 62 years +
Individual $50

Memberships valid for two adults and children under 18 residing at the same address:
Household $75
Senior Household $50 62 years +
National Associate $40 Residing 90+ miles away
Patron $150

The General Membership levels listed above are fully tax deductible.

Supporting Memberships

Supporting memberships offer increased benefits and an opportunity to be involved with the museums on a deeper level through exclusive events and programs.

All Supporting Memberships are valid for two adults and children under 18 residing at the same address.

Sustainer $250
$190 is tax deductible
All General Membership Benefits, plus:

• VIP Invitations to Member openings
• Free admission and discounts to select museums nationally, in Canada and the Caribbean

Benefactor $500
$440 is tax deductibleb
All of the above, plus:

• One complimentary Household Membership for friends or family (valid for six months)
• Free admission for two guests to the Museums when accompanied by a member

Mint Masterpiece Circle

Masterpiece members are the highest categories of individual annual giving. Members who generously give $1000 or more provide support for exhibitions and programs and play a vital role in supporting The Mint Museum's future.

Silver Circle $1,000
$930 is tax deductible
All Supporting Membership privileges, plus:

• Invitation to the Director’s Dinner
• Trips exclusively for Silver Circle members
• Recognition on both museums' donor plaques

Gold Circle $2,500
$2,380 is tax deductible
All of the above, plus:

• Invitation to the Gold Circle Event
• (An intimate dinner and program at the private home of a Gold Circle member)
• Free admission for two guests to Member Openings
• Two passes to any special-ticketed exhibitions
• 25% off the rental of the museum (subject to availability)

Platinum Circle $5,000
$4,630 is tax deductible
All of the above, plus:

• Free facility rental (subject to limitations)
• Home & Garden Tour package (includes two gala tickets)
• Antique Show package (includes two gala tickets)
• Catalog for every major exhibition (if published)

Chairman's Circle $10,000
$9,630 is tax deductible
All of the above, plus:

• Special events hosted by the Board Chair and Executive Director to discuss long range plans for The Mint Museum

The Young Affiliates of the Mint (YAM)

The Young Affiliates are a group of diverse young professionals who promote and support The Mint Museum through social, educational, and fund-raising events. Join to receive invitations to Young Affiliate events and enjoy free or discounted admissions, as well as full Museum member privileges.

If you are already a member of The Mint Museum and would like to join the Young Affiliates, please remit $25 if your current level of membership is Individual, Student or Teacher, benefits are good for one. Remit $35 if you are currently at the Household level and up, benefits are good for two.
