Sfirri was trained in the art of furniture making at the Rhode Island School of Design. He turns his pieces on multiple axes to produce both motion and simultaneity of multiple perspectives. Sfirri works independently, but has also collaborated with other artists like Robert Dodge and in this collection, Michael Hosaluk. Sfirri has said that "the responsive nature of collaborative process means that the final object is never fully envisioned by either of us before its completion. Perhaps this unpredictability is part of what makes the results of our work together so satisfying to us." Click here to watch Mark demonstrate turning a "wacky bat."
