  Behind the Scenes at the Mint Museum Uptown
Art is moving - literally and figuratively! Two weeks ago we looked at the the painting storage screens. Now we're working to add paintings to the screens. As you can see, this item barely fit into the moving truck, but it fit into the new freight elevator at the Mint Museum Uptown with ease.

The Maya people of Guatemala and southeastern Mexico are known for their magnificent attire. Clothing transforms the body and integrates the community. Maya attire signals social identity, geographic origin, current community, social structure, political affiliation and religious ideology with its symbolic system.
