Join us at Mint Museum Uptown and celebrate our global community and the art of movement! Our featured guest, DJ Pepito, will move you to celebrate rich diversity with people who just want to dance. The music will incorporate Afro-Cuban and Latin-influenced dancing such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and more!
Celebrating Discovering Puerto Rico and Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoy the DJ mixes and LIVE musical combo tributes featuring Jorge Moran, timbales; Jerry Giraud, bongos; and Mark Taylor, trumpet!!
Salsa, a Latin dance form with origins from Cuban Son (sound) and Afro-Cuban dance (specifically Afro-Cuban rumba).
Bachata and Merengue, genres of music that originated in the Dominican Republic and spread to other parts of Latin America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
In the Mattye and Marc Silverman Grand Room and Terrace, Mint Museum Uptown at Levine Center for the Arts.
Salsa dance lesson at 8:30 p.m.

Charlotte Latin Dance, ArtSi, and NC Latin Dancers will be on the dance floor!
This is collaboration with ArtSí Charlotte, a community initiative supporting Latino Arts, and Charlotte Latin Dance, sharing a passion for dance and self-expression. The Puerto Rican Cultural Society of Charlotte also is supporting this month’s event. Mint to Move is a Let's Move Museums and Gardens event.
October also is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so information will be provided by organizations supporting these health and wellness issues.
