New York Times Best Selling Author Amber Smith, a former assistant curator at the Mint, shares excerpts and open dialogue with the audience from her novel The Way I Used to Be and a sneak peek into her latest novel The Last to Let Go being released in February 2018. The Way I Used to Be shares an ‘unforgettable story’ of a young woman as she struggles to find strength in the aftermath of an assault and subsequent hardships that contribute to her challenges to be whole again. Joining in the chat will be Charlotte Psychotherapist and Teen Health Educator Delilah McDonald, MSW, LCSW who will provide insight and community resources that all can share to help sexual abuse and domestic violence victims, parents, and communities heal.

Following the program, guests can purchase, get books signed and chat with the featured author and guest educator at the Mint Museum Shop, enjoy free entertainment, and sip (lemonade and optional wine for adults), shop, and save on unique items at Wine on Wednesdays (WOW).

Note: Subject matter is sensitive and parental guidance is advised. Women and teen advocacy groups are invited.
