5th Annual FireFest by STARworks

The Founders' Circle invites you to join us for the 5th Annual FireFest by STARworks THIS Saturday, April 8, 2017!

While at FireFest you will be able to experience the craft community of artists, scholars, gallery owners, art administrators, and craft enthusiasts at its best. Join us on April 8 and you will be able to:

  • Watch some of the best artists in the world (Andy Nacisse in ceramics, Paul Marioni in glass, and Carl Billingsley in metal) make their art and hear a number of resident artists speak about their work.
  • Participate in hands-on workshops in glass blowing, ceramics, and metal forging.
  • Meet and talk with many of the talented artists in attendance.
  • Tour the STARworks facilities which include the factory of Wet Dog Glass, a leading maker of glass furnaces and ovens and ceramic kilns, AND STARworks' Clay Factory, which is refining NC "wild clays" used by leading ceramic artists in the world.
  • Witness the dramatic unveiling from the kiln of a 7-foot high ceramic sculpture by Andy Nacisse.

The cost of the trip is $55 per person. This includes chartered, round-trip transportation and all-day admission to the festival. Meals are not included, but gourmet food truck options will be available on-site.

The bus will depart from The Mint Museum Randolph (2730 Randolph Road) at 12:00 noon and will return no later than 10:30pm.

Registration is required. Please contact Sarah Robinson at to register.
