Investing in Art

Join the Young Affiliates of the Mint on Wednesday, April 12th from 7 - 9 p.m. at Mint Museum Randolph for our special event, "Investing in Art." We are hosting a partner spotlight on Founders' Circle President Dick McCracken, who will discuss how he started his personal art collection many years ago and how it has evolved with the influence of his wife and his travels.

There will be light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Then, from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m., Mr. McCracken will take us on a journey from his first work of art to his most recent acquisition. We will mingle afterward from 7:45 to 9 p.m. and peruse the extensive permanent collection at the Mint Museum Randolph.

Early Bird Tickets: $5 3/22/17 - 3/31/2017

General Admission: $10 4/1/2017 - 4/11/2017

Day-Of Tickets: $15 4/12/2017

Who are The Young Affiliates?
We're a diverse group of young professionals promoting and supporting the Mint Museum through cultural, social, leadership, and fundraising activities and events. Established in 1990, we're the premier social arts organization for young professionals in Charlotte.

Our Mission:
To introduce members to the resources available at the Mint, and develop appreciation of the arts through a wide variety of programs including gallery openings, receptions, annual fund-raising parties, membership meetings, and after-work educational seminars.

Our Impact:
The Young Affiliates make substantial donations of tangible and intangible goods to The Mint Museum each year. To date, the Young Affiliates have made eight acquisitions, including a photograph by Annie Leibovitz and outstanding pieces of contemporary craft purchased at the American Craft Council Craft Fair. These artworks are held in the permanent collection of the Mint with credit to the Young Affiliates. At present, the Young Affiliates have committed to raising funds to offset the cost of free school tours of the Mint Museum for school-aged children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. These tours inspire a new generation of artists and art enthusiasts who will make Charlotte a more vibrant community.
