Ways to Give

Giving to the Museum

As a non-profit organization, The Mint Museum counts on the support of our members, volunteers, and donors to help us achieve our mission: to provide a unique gathering place for people to experience art. The museum’s Annual Fund provides key operational support for our most critical needs, education programs for visitors of all ages, preservation of the collection, essential community outreach, top-tier personnel, and more.

There are many ways to support The Mint Museum, including:

Annual Fund Donations
All gifts to the museum’s Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible.

Honorarium or Memorial
Donate to the Museum in honor or memory of a special person. We will send an acknowledgment to that recipient or a designated loved one.

Seat in the Auditorium
Create a lifetime legacy in the museum by “adopting” a seat in the James B. Duke Auditorium in the gift recipient’s name for $1,000.

Giving Tree
Donate $250 to support the Lewis Family Gallery, and we will place the gift recipient’s and or family’s named “leaf” on the Giving Tree.

Matching Gifts
Double your donation to the museum through your company’s matching gift program. Contact your personnel office for details.

Gifts of Stock
The museum welcomes gifts of stock for new or renewing memberships, pledge payments, and gifts such as memorials and honoraria. If you would like to make a gift of stock, please contact the Chief Financial Officer by email or by phone at 704.337.2030.

Donations of Works of Art

Gifts of artwork strengthen The Mint Museum’s ever-growing collection, providing years of enjoyment and educational enrichment for thousands of museum visitors. To discuss such a gift, please contact the Curatorial Department by email, or by phone at 704.337.2001.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts are an effective, thoughtful way to support the museum for years to come, and to leave your or your family’s legacy. Planned gifts allow donors to enjoy special tax considerations while ensuring that The Mint Museum has a bright future. The Dwelle Society was established in 1995 by the Board of Trustees to recognize generous friends who have included The Mint Museum in their estate plans. Members of the Dwelle Society share the vision and commitment of Mary Myers Dwelle, one of the museum’s founders.

For more information about planned giving and membership in the Dwelle Society, please contact the Development Department by email or by phone at 704.337.2012

The Greater Charlotte Cultural Trust is dedicated to building endowments for our most important cultural organizations through planned giving, and serves as a valuable resource for individuals interested in making planned gifts to cultural institutions they care about.  For more information, please visit www.charlotteculturaltrust.org
