Giving to the Museum
The Mint Museum is fortunate to be a funded cultural affiliate of the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Inc. However, Arts & Science Council dollars comprise only a portion of the museum’s annual operating income. Donations of cash, artwork and other gifts are key to The Mint Museum’s continued success in fostering and presenting artistic creativity in our community and beyond. Below are the various ways in which foundations, corporations, governmental entities and individuals support the museums’ many exciting exhibitions and educational offerings.
Donating Cash
Individuals can support the museum by becoming members and by making general gifts, both of which provide important unrestricted funds for a wide variety of exhibitions and education programs. General gifts can also be designated for particular programs of the donor’s choice. To make a general gift, contact the Membership Department by email or by phone at 704-337-2016.

Donating Stocks
The Mint Museum welcomes gifts of stock. They can be used for new or renewing memberships, pledge payments, and gifts such as memorials and honoraria. If you would like to make a gift of stock, please contact the Chief Financial Officer by email or by phone at or 704-337-2030.
Donations of Works of Art
Gifts of artwork strengthen The Mint Museum’s ever-growing collection, providing years of enjoyment and educational enrichment for thousands of museum visitors. To discuss such a gift, please contact the Curatorial Department by email or by phone at 704-337-2001.
Planned Giving Opportunities
Planned gifts are an effective, thoughtful way to support the museum for years to come. Many planned gifts allow donors to enjoy special tax considerations while providing for The Mint Museum’s future. The Dwelle Society was established in 1995 by the Board of Trustees to recognize generous friends who have included The Mint Museum in their estate plans. Members of the Dwelle Society share the vision and commitment of Mary Myers Dwelle, one of the museum’s founders.
For more information about planned giving and membership in the Dwelle Society, please contact the Development Department by email or by phone at 704-337-2012.
