Meet Stoney Lamar
-Wood Artist

Stoney Lamar did not always think he would become an artist. But he has been working with wood since he was a boy. His father made toys out of wood and sold them in stores and at craft fairs. Stoney could use the woodworking tools and enjoyed the process of making useful things out of wood. As a young man he went to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina to learn advanced woodworking skills. He planned to make furniture for a living. But as he became more skillful in using power tools, he saw the opportunity to produce abstract art instead.
