BEAR FACTS - Black bears are one of the few large animals that still live in the wild in NC. They live along the Roanoke River in the mountains and in the coastal plains. In fact, the NC coastal plains has the largest population of black bears in the Southeast. Black bears love to eat honey made from honeybees.

BEE FACTS - The honeybee was named the state insect in 1973. Some people think the insect represents how hard North Carolinians work.
