• The largest frasier fir tree in North America is in Cashiers in Johnson County. It's 87 feet tall and 9 feet around. A frasier fir is the most common type of Christmas tree. Now that's a big Christmas tree!

• The oldest tree in North Carolina is a Giant Bald Cyprus found along the coast in Bertie County.

• North Carolina grows more trees for lumber and wood products than almost any other state.
