This is a basket made to store grain. It is an example of a basket made using traditional Cherokee methods of weaving.

This basket is woven using a double weave pattern. A double weave pattern makes a strong, tight basket. Some baskets can even hold water.

This basket is woven together using rivercane or cane that is found along river banks. The dark color is a stain made from walnut hulls.
