Corporate Partnerships
The Mint Museum is proud of the strong alliance we share with corporate donors who, in turn, have the distinction of their association with artistic excellence. As the Museum prepares to open a new 145,000 square foot facility in Uptown Charlotte in October 2010, it is a great time to be a corporate partner.

$6,500 K-12 Teacher Professional Development *
From November 14, 2009 to February 28, 2010, the Mint Museum of Art will present Loïs Mailou Jones: A Life in Vibrant Color. This exhibition will examine the work of African American artist Loïs Mailou Jones (1905-1998) and feature paintings that synthesize African, Caribbean, American and African-American iconography and motifs.
*To extend the reach of this exhibition into local schools, the Mint will host Evenings with Educators – African Art Influence: Loïs Mailou Jones, a series of five teacher in-service workshops that will use Jones’ work as a context for examining the art and culture of West Africa. Her paintings offer a “visual map” of varied art motifs from different regions and cultures in Africa. The workshop activities will focus on strategies for middle school social studies and visual arts teachers to use both African and African-inspired art to help students better understand the relationships between art and culture in Africa and America. The workshops will address all activities through both guided discussion and hands-on learning. The Mint aims to enable participating teachers in turn to model the methods they learn with their students.
$6,000 Outreach: YMCA, YWCA & PLCMC Programs
The Mint Museum has developed a successful outreach program of Train-the-Trainer art workshops for teachers and teacher assistants at various after-school sites, including YMCAs, YWCAs, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library branches, Park & Recreation sites, and private after-school sites. These teachers work primarily with at-risk and minority children and youth; many of the sites are located in predominantly minority neighborhoods. Children at all of these sites have limited opportunities for cultural activities, and this outreach program gives them a greater sense of connection to the community at large by exposing them to art and encouraging them to express themselves through art. Most recently, several senior facilities, such as independent living centers, have been added to the site roster.
$5,000 Sneak Peaks (MMA and MMCD)
Sponsorships are available for exhibition preview events which attract large crowds for a sneak peek at new exhibitions. Sponsors enjoy many benefits such as recognition on approximately 5,000 email invitations, recognition in other Mint communications, complimentary tickets, product display, logo recognition, etc.
