The Mint Museum’s Internship Program is an opportunity for college and graduate students to gain valuable career insight into the daily operations of a museum. Internships are available at both museum locations and in a variety of departments, including: Advancement, Collections & Exhibitions, Curatorial, Design & Installation, and Learning & Engagement. Internships are unpaid and availability varies every semester.

Chief Financial Officer

The Mint Museum seeks an experienced financial manager to become its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO will be responsible for all financial activities for the Museum, including financial management and reporting, budgeting, general accounting, billing, investment administration, financial strategic planning, and grants management, as well as for some administrative services. The CFO will oversee all compliance and recognition for government contracts and private grants as well as serving as liaison with the Museum’s independent auditors. The CFO recommends and implements appropriate policies and internal control procedures to protect the Museum’s assets and ensure accountability and solvency. He or she will provide counsel and support to the President and the Board of Trustees, including the Finance and Audit Committees, on all financial and administrative matters, as well as work on other strategic initiatives. 

The CFO is an important member of the senior leadership team, and it is critical that he or she be capable of integrating smoothly into the management at the Museum, fitting into the organization's culture. The CFO will work with the Board and staff in a supportive and direct manner. He or she will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, a hands-on management style, and the ability to address and solve problems or issues as they arise. In addition, he or she will be diplomatic, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment.

Director of Learning & Engagement

The Mint Museum Director of Learning & Engagement is an exceptional leader who furthers the mission of The Mint Museum by initiating and managing the museum’s innovative learning opportunities. Reporting to the President and CEO, the position oversees the areas of interpretation, educational programming, outreach, community relations, Library, and Archives. S/he initiates and supervises broad initiatives supporting excellence and equity, including but not limited to those that deepen relationships with the Latino community and better attract and serve creative teens. S/he is a key member of the Mint’s Senior Leadership team that sets priorities, establishes policies, develops budgets, and sets long-range strategic goals for the museum.

Guest Services Staff, Part-Time

Guest services team members play an integral role in the growth of the institution, as they are the initial point of contact for all visitors.  They are responsible for recognizing and engaging each individual as they seek to strengthen relationships and support of the museum.  Guest services staff support the mission of the institution and are comfortable soliciting support through membership and Annual Fund.  Team members must be self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals whom provide the highest quality of customer service to every guest

Leadership Giving Manager

The Leadership Giving Manager is a key member of the Advancement & Communications team and will assist with the planning and implementation of The Mint Museum’s long- and short-term advancement efforts, devising techniques and managing strategies to meet contributed revenue goals. The Manager will bring demonstrated expertise and accomplishment to the role, providing leadership in core areas of focus, including securing annual gifts ($1,200+ - $25,000) through the museum’s leadership giving circle, project-based and/or general operating major gifts ($25,000+), and planned gifts to meet individual giving goals.

Registration Assistant, Photographer

- Collections & Exhibitions
Under the direction of the Chief Registrar, the Registration Assistant, Photographer will assist with all aspects of collections management including the documentation, management, movement, and care of all permanent collection objects and objects on loan. The Registration Assistant, Photographer will produce images of exceptional quality, manage museum collection imaging operations, and maintain efficient methodologies, capabilities, and services for imaging. He/she will work in cooperation with the Digital Media Manager, Curatorial, and Collections & Exhibitions staff as needed.
