The Mint Museum’s Internship Program is an opportunity for college and graduate students to gain valuable career insight into the daily operations of a museum. Internships are available at both museum locations and in a variety of departments, including: Advancement, Collections & Exhibitions, Curatorial, Design & Installation, and Learning & Engagement. Internships are unpaid and availability varies every semester.
The Major Gifts Officer is a key member of the advancement & communications team and will assist with the planning and implementation of The Mint Museum’s long- and short-term fundraising efforts, devising strategies and techniques to accomplish development goals. The Major Gifts Officer will bring demonstrated expertise and accomplishment to the role, providing leadership in core areas of focus, including individual gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and planned giving.
In collaboration with the Director of Advancement & Communications the Director of Donor Relations, and the Chair of the Advancement & Communications Committee, the Major Gifts Officer is expected to personally solicit, or coordinate the solicitation of annual operating support, capital funding, and endowment gifts, thereby generating significant growth in annual support, endowment, and legacy programs through personal cultivation efforts, volunteer-driven programs, and upgrade initiatives. The Major Gifts officer will be key in outlining a systematic fundraising plan and objectives to ensure the growth necessary to sustain the museum.
Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant is will be responsible for daily general ledger accounting for Mint Museum’s financial transactions into the Blackbaud enterprise reporting system. This position requires a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Mint Museum’s business office functions, museum department work processes, and works with a minimum amount of supervision. This position also requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of Blackbaud’s Altru donor and contributions module for the recording of detailed revenue transactions from Altru into Financial Edge revenue chart of accounts and monthly reconciliation.
