The exhibition features particularly noteworthy examples of American Brilliant Period cut glass from members of the North Carolina chapter of the American Cut Glass Association. The objects include punchbowls, trays, vases, tableware, decanters, and other forms, all chosen because of the particularly high quality of their craftsmanship and ornamentation. Some of the pieces illustrate patterns or forms that are extremely rare, while others represent the superb technical and artistic accomplishments of the major American manufactories that specialized in this technique. Among those firms are J. Hoare and Company, T. G. Hawkes, Libbey Glass Company, and Christian Dorflinger.
