The Miniature Worlds of Bruce Metcalf is the first exhibition with a retrospective view of the artist's work, featuring 75 pieces dating from the 1970s to the present. This exhibition of Metcalf's work displays his interest in architecture, comics, and narrative. It examines the social, moral, and political issues Metcalf raised in essays about the handmade. In their dual life as wearable brooches, Metcalf's bigheaded and vulnerable protagonists venture into the world on their miniature stages to engage the unsuspecting viewer.
