Christ and the Samaritan Woman

Documented facts surrounding the life of Badalocchioís life are scarce, but it is thought he studied with Agostino Carracci, possibly in Bologna. He later traveled to Rome to work as an assistant to Annibale Carracci. After Annibale died in 1609, Badalocchio returned to his native Parma.

The biblical story of Christ and the Samaritan Woman is found in the Book of John, Chapter 4, verses 4-42. In this version, Badalocchio presents the moment when the woman acknowledges the coming of the Messiah, and Christ responds by saying, "I who speak to you am He."
